Pantone Announces Color of the Year – Twice

Pantone announces two colors for the year, Rose Quartz and Serenity (Pantone)

For the first time ever, the Pantone Color Institute has chosen but one, but two colors of the year for 2016. Throwing caution to the wind and breaking tradition, Pantone has named Rose Quartz, a soft pink, and Serenity, a light blue. These colors, both pastels, are said by the company to, “fulfill our yearning for reassurance and security” as modern day stresses become more prominent. By selecting calming colors, Pantone hoped to aid those “seeking mindfulness and well-being” going into the new year.

They investigate which colors they are notice are being repeated all over the world, on the runway, and in everyday cultures. It is well known that upon the announcement of the Pantone color of the year, the color will explode.
